This Gaudi creation stands out among many of his other designs due to the limited budget that he had to work with. Because of this, most of the building is made from simple stone and brick with sparse ceramic decorations. Inspired by Gothic-style arches, Gaudi had many of the archways resemble a more pointed ovular shape to spice up the traditional design with his own architectural flavor. Interestingly, Palau Güell, which Gaudi was designing at the same time, directly contrasts this conservative design with much more garish grounds and architecture.
