Step into this former hospital, which is one of the oldest in Europe, and marvel at the overwhelming display of art, architecture and history. Built over centuries, the structure includes Medieval, Catalan Gothic and Renaissance architecture, though the Gothic is easily the most impressive and noticeable. Gaudi and Picasso were both treated here, and there is now plenty of artwork from other famous artists on display throughout the hospital. Much of the building has been converted into the Library of Catalonia, which is the second largest in Spain.
