Medieval Fortress Town

Roughly 30 minutes from Glasgow, the city of Stirling is home to a medieval fortress (Stirling Castle), but archaeology sites connected to the area date its occupation to the Stone Age. Stirling has been an important city center since the time of the Romans.

While the boasts many historic attractions like Stirling Castle, it also features present-day attractions like the Tullibardine Distillery and Dumbrae Riding Centre. When visiting, of course, it's essential to walk through the old town with its historic buildings which house pubs, shops, and restaurants, and are often brimming with bustling crowds.
