Every city wants to appear to be magical, but what if it could actually do so? The Camera Obscura and World of Illusions makes Edinburgh especially so. Or... does it?
A chamber in the roof of this 150-year-old building houses a special rooftop venue that provides a tour of the city in an informative and very special way. The guide will take you on a tour of Edinburgh using only Victorian-era technology, specifically a pinhole camera. Using only technology from the 1850s, you'll be able to see projections of the city in an amazing, interactive exhibit, with a 360-degree view of Edinburgh. The tours are necessarily limited—the room in the rooftop chamber is small—so, if you're interested in this special tour of the city, arrange for your tickets well in advance.
