Soufriere's name means 'sulfur', which gives a clue to one of its highlights: hot springs where you can wallow luxuriously in the warm mud. It's got other charms too, as it's a pretty town spread out in front of the dramatic backdrop of the Pitons with colonial-era houses painted in cheerful color-wash. There's a lot to attract visitors.
The town has lovely Botanical Gardens, good beaches, snorkeling, bike trails through nearby sugar plantations and a lively harbor-side scene. Hiring a car to explore the town and surroundings is a good idea as it covers quite an area.
