The Sampsonievsky Cathedral, or St. Sampson's Cathedral as it is known in the West, is a beautiful church that is regarded as one of the oldest in St. Petersburg. Thought to be the setting for Catherine the Great's secret marriage to Grigory Potemkin, the church is a popular attraction.
