Going Wild

Technically the San Sebastian Festival honors the Christian martyr Saint Sebastian--it roughly marks his feast day in late January--but mainly it's a huge four-day party in the streets of Old San Juan.

Live music, flashy parades, traditional (and non-traditional) dancing, arts-and-crafts vendors, and loads of well-lubricated carousers after nightfall: The San Sebastian Festival is a spectacle in and of itself--and, as you might imagine, a blast to participate in. Bring the family during the day, or get loose during the after-hours revelry.

Utrip Tips

*We have the pin in Plaza del Quinto Centenario, but festivities take place all over Old San Juan, especially in Plaza de Armas, Plaza de La Barandilla, Plaza Colón.
