Located on a small street opposite “restaurant row”, As Velhas is a hidden gem. Although it looks plain on the outside, you’ll discover that the interior is actually quite charming and cozy. The restaurant offers authentic Portuguese cuisine, with an easygoing menu consisting predominantly of fish and meats. The grilled sea bass, beautifully yet simply cooked in olive oil and garlic, is highly recommended as is the roasted dry codfish. Anyone out there who likes good food and superb service will appreciate all that As Velhas has to offer.
