More than a thousand years after they burst out the fjords of Norway, the Vikings still hold a special place in the history of the world. This museum, part of the Museum of Cultural History of the University of Oslo, not only holds three extraordinarily well-preserved Viking ships (all burial ships, discovered in the late 19th and early 20th centuries) but a collection of burial goods: clothes, shoes, household goods, farm equipment and carvings.
