If you enjoy art museums, the National Gallery must be on your list of places to visit while in Oslo. As part of the larger museum system, the collection here emphasizes Norwegian painting, drawings, prints and sculpture from the 19th and 20th centuries (including, yes, The Scream by Edvard Munch), but it includes collections by international artists. There are also temporary exhibits, which have the reputation of being very well curated. After wearing yourself out (it's a large museum), relax in The French Salon or the outdoor Grosch Café.
