Hall Of Treasures

A tour of City Hall may not sound very exciting, but the Oslo one is different.

From the outside, the building looks grand, stark and somewhat forbidding, but the interior is dedicated to celebrating the art and craftsmanship of Norway, and it's full of treasures. The Norwegians take great pride in their cultural heritage, and they welcome visitors warmly.

The enormous murals include work by Edvard Munch, and you can see the hall where the Nobel Peace Prize is presented.

There are also free, bookable guided tours in the summer months.
