French and international dining and gorgeous views await you at restaurant café IJ-kantine. This brasserie looks out over the harbor of Amsterdam and is based on the old ship dock in Amsterdam North named called the NDSM wharf. While wining and dining you can still feel the industrial atmosphere in the building itself. Because the IJ-kantine opens at 9am for breakfast and stays open for lunch and dinner, you can come and enjoy the vista in any type of light. March through October (the months outdoor seating is available), candle light bathes the terrace at night. Even if you miss the dates when the terrace is open, a spectacular view can still be had through the restaurant’s big windows. This restaurant describes itself as “child friendly” and it is a good place to visit for enjoying with friends, business meetings and dining with groups.
