Cafe de Jaren is one of the largest cafes in Amsterdam. Dine on the ground floor or explore their restaurant with its large salad bar, international reading area, or canal-view terrace. Their menu specializes in global cuisine and is almost as large as their restaurant. The lunch selection includes classic hot or cold sandwiches and international soups. Lasagna, burgers, Tom Kha (Thai soup), and beef carpaccio are all found on the dinner menu. All dinner dishes include bread and a trip to the salad bar so diners should come hungry. Regardless of size, ambiance, and excellent hospitality the restaurant claims it owes its popularity to the fresh cuisine they serve.
