Beyond the Diary

Many of those who lived through WWII and the Nazi occupations recorded their experiences so that future generations could learn from the mistakes of the past. None of these records have become more famous than the diary written by a 12-year-old Jewish girl named Anne Frank. Visitors to Amsterdam can visit the secret annex where Anne wrote her diary before her family was captured. The house containing the annex has been turned into a museum that contains photographs of the occupation going on outside the house, exhibits about discrimination, and a history of the Frank family.
