Classical Old World and New World come together in this beautiful regional museum. The professionally made reproductions of classical Greek and Roman statues ground the museum in the ancient European tradition, while the exhibitions of ancient and modern Mexican art give visitors a grounding in what Mexico has to offer to world culture. The exhibitions and displays also provide an understanding of local history, from architecture (including city models) to history. Be sure to spend some time in the gardens, where you'll see plants not found elsewhere. The area around the museum also features many good restaurants, when you're ready for a relaxing meal after a visit to the museum.
