Monument to the Heroes of Independence

This 25 meter tall pink stone monument represents Father Hidalgo, Allende, Morelo, and Aldama, whose severed heads once graced the corners of the Alhondiga in Guanjuato city in the first struggle for Mexican Independence. Built in 1960, the style is modern, massive and violent.
