While sea-faring Tokyo is home to many fish markets, Tsukiji Fish Market is undoubtedly its most famous. Though one might not expect a fish market to draw in the masses, Tsukiji is one of the largest markets of its kind in the world and attracts many sightseers in addition to its regular buyers and sellers. Each day, the market witnesses transactions involving 2,000 tons of marine products. One of the highlights of visiting this market is being able to witness the celebrated tuna auction, but be warned - getting in as a tourist to witness this auction is extremely limited.
