Millions of years ago, when these dinosaurs were roaming the Earth, most of them would never have imagined that they would be hanging out in an island city in a former Turkish warehouse. For most of the 17th century, Fndaco dei Turchi was the home, warehouse, and place of business for Turkish merchants and their families in Venice. Now the building is home of Museo di Storia Naturale di Venezia (Natural History Museum of Venice). Turkish trade goods have been replaced with outstanding dinosaur fossils, unique exhibits on the marine ecosystems of the Mediterranean, and much more. A very family friendly museum, this Natural History Museum competes with any of the best around the world.
