For most of the day, La Palanca is a friendly neighborhood bar, but during lunch hours, the chefs whip up some very impressive gourmet dishes. You’ll find a variety of pastas, risotto, and tremazzani, or triangular sandwiches, which are all made with ingredients so fresh that you can't help but notice. Try tagliolini with calamari, the seafood antipasto of generous proportions, or squid risotto. Or order their fast and delicious three-course meal for a reasonable 30 euros. And never say no to dessert when there is a rich chocolate mousse with your name on it. La Palanca boasts one of the best views in Venice with tables on the fondamenta, or canal-side walkway, that showcase breathtaking scenery of the Giudecca canal and the Zattere on the opposite bank.
