Taking the Vaporetto might seem confusing and difficult, as the prices and times vary daily. However, the best way to think about it is as a normal bus, except on the water. While good for transportation on the Grand Canal, the Vaporetto also is a great way to see the city. The Vaporetto #1 line goes from San Zaccaria Danieli to P. Roma Santa Chiara. Check which direction the Vaporetto is going, and make sure you are at the same station, as sometimes both directions are at one stop, or on opposite sides of the canal. There are single hour and day passes available, however, the 7 day pass is the best value for money. During summer, the boats depart every 10 minutes, and be sure to check their website for further details including a map of stations, and different prices.
