This is the original market area watering hole from which even Casanova wasn’t excluded, or so the legend goes. One of the biggest crowd-drawers here are the tramezzini, or triangular sandwiches, with fresh combinations of meats, tuna, cheeses, and vegetables. There is also chicchetti to try with an ombra, traditional bacari (bar snacks), melanzane alla parmigiana (eggplant Parmesan), and fondi di carciofi saltati (lightly fried artichoke hearts). There is also a selection of around 100 local wines to pair with. True to tradition, Cantina Do Mori has no tables and only a few bar stools, as Venetians come to snack and chat while standing.
