Sister Churches

Located in Piazza del Popolo, the sister churches of Santa Maria dei Miracoli and Santa Maria di Montesanto stand majestically at the south end of the Piazza del Popolo. Not only do they share similar names, but their looks are pretty similar, as well.

While the differences are pretty subtle (dei Miracoli's dome, for instance is octagonal, while di Montesanto's dome is dodecagonal), they're both gorgeous pieces of architecture, and and amazing look into Rome's past. And if you're really looking to explore the differences, duck in and explore for yourself. Regardless of how you appreciate them, though, these two beauties won’t disappoint.

Utrip Tips

*On the last Sunday of October until June 29th, Mass is held and read by artists and accompanied by music at Santa Maria di Montesanto.
