Inside the Roman Walls

The Museo delle Mura is located within the San Sebastiano gate, a particularly well-preserved part of the Aurelian Walls, which were constructed between 271 and 275 A.D. The museum displays chronologically the changes that the walls have undergone in order to defend the Eternal City. The visit to the museum includes a walk along the walls, and entrance into the defense towers that you’ll encounter along the way- which provide a stunning view of the city and Parque Appia Antica.
