Strange Story, Beautiful Surroundings
According to legend, the Abbazia is a complex comprised of three churches, located where St Paul was decapitated. According to lore, his head bounced on the ground three times, and in each of those three spots rose three springs and three fountains. The Abbazia is set in a tranquil location, surrounded by eucalyptus trees planted all the way back in the 1800s. The three churches of Abbazia are the SS Vincenzo and Anastasio, the Santa Maria in Scala Coeli, and the San Paolo alle Tre Fontane.
