Plunge into Pisa's Past

Although easily overlooked among the other titans in and around the Piazza dei Miracli, the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo houses some immense facets of Pisa’s history, and isn’t to be overlooked if you’re looking to immerse yourself in a history-rich trip to Pisa.

On top of housing some of Pisa’s most beloved historical artifacts—like the famous Pisa Griffin and a Pisano carving of the Madonna and Child from 1299—the museum also offers a stunning (and mostly tourist-free) view of the piazza and the Leaning Tower. It’s a great place to catch glimmers of Pisa’s past and see this splendid city from an entirely new angle.
