A Breathtaking Mausoleum

It should come as no surprise that Italy is replete with grand chapels. After all, what better place to somberly contemplate the weighty matters of life (love, family, large portions of pasta) than a breathtaking mausoleum. Chiesa del Gesu is one of the most important Baroque churches in Palermo. Inside the beautifully appointed nave of the church, you will find marble bass reliefs (on the tribuna) showing the Adoration of the Shepherds as well as a truly sublime high relief of The Glory of St Luke by Ignazio Marabitti.
