Political & Cultural Hub

This L-shaped square located in front of the Palazzo Vecchio is the historical focal point of the Florentine Republic and remains a political and social hub of the city to this day. A meeting point for Florentines as well as numerous tourists, Piazza della Signoria is located near Ponte Vecchio and Piazza del Duomo and is a gateway to the Uffizi Gallery. The Piazza is also home to the magnificent Loggia dei Lanzi which hosts some of the finest outdoor statues in the entire world, including the beautiful Fountain of Neptune, the famous replica of Michelangelo's David, the massive statue of Cosmos I dei Medici, as well as the statue of Hercules and Cacus.
