The oldest church of the Oltrarno, Santa Felicita is home to the famous Mannerist painting "The Deposition by Pontormo," adjacent to his other work, the Annunciation. Other important paintings presented are the "Madonna with the Child" and "Saints" by Taddeo Gaddi, and the "Adoration of the Magi" by Francesco di Antonio. These artworks are characterized by the use of unusual colors and poses that are full of expression. However, despite being located right off of the Vasari Corridor that connects popular attractions Palazzo Vecchio and Pitti Palace, Santa Felicita remains in a slight veil of obscurity, providing a well-needed break from the demanding crowds.
