Brunelleschi Masterpiece

Originally founded in 1250 AD, the Basilica of Santa Maria del Santo Spirito (or simply Santo Spirito) is a stunning church—one of the best examples of Renaissance architecture in the world. Built after a model by Brunelleschi, the church took its current form in the 15th century. While the exterior façade was never finished, don’t let outside appearances fool you, as the interior contains many treasures including a fine dome, frescoes, paintings, and a wooden crucifix by Michelangelo. A must-see for anyone interested in Renaissance architecture and art.
