Abiding Passion

The Rottensteiner vineyard is another traditional family winemaking company that concentrates on the famous local grape varieties of Lagrein and Santa Magdalena. Started by the grandfather of the present owners, the winery has progressed from exporting wine for bottling elsewhere, to bottling and selling their own wine on the estate, their grandfather's dream.

They combine grapes grown in several local vineyards, mostly but not all owned by the family, to get the best possible result. To give an idea of the ancient local tradition of viniculture, one of the vineyards they use was first recorded in the year 1,000!

They will happily advise you on your purchase, including a taste before buying, and tours of the cellars, with tasting, can be organized on request.
