The oldest college in Ireland and site of over 500 years of its history, Trinity College also houses the world famous Book of Kells. Founded in 1592 by Elizabeth I, the college has been at the forefront of many historical events and controversies, not least among them being a Protestant college in a Catholic country, since its founding. However, the Book of Kells exhibit is the true must see on campus. Created around 800, the book contains the four Gospels and the New Testament, along with many illustrations.
