The Story of Irish Emigration

Experience this unique museum that tells the story of Irish emigrants to the New World, beginning with their dangerous voyage across the sea. The Jeanie Johnston is a replica of the original tall ship of the same name that successfully carried more than 2,500 emigrants to the new world in 16 perilous journeys.

The ship is a completely authentic, working replica of a tall ship from the 18th century built by a local shipyard in Kerry. She has travelled around the globe to various points in North America and Europe. Each tour of the ship is 50 minutes long, and informs visitors about the ship itself as well as the stories of its passengers.
