The Douglas Hyde Gallery is a leader in contemporary art in Dublin. Originally a part of the Trinity College, in 1984 they broke away and became the only publicly funded contemporary art gallery in Dublin. Offering a wide range of exhibitions, the gallery always strives to display marginalized Irish artists, ultimately filling a niche in the Dublin art community by providing visibility for artists that have otherwise been overlooked. While emerging artists are often the majority of their exhibitions, they still present shows from international and well-known artists as well, ultimately offering a diverse range of works throughout each year. The Douglas Hyde Gallery aims to always stay on top of the ever changing and eclectic art scene. For the art lover out there, don't pass up an opportunity to see what's new in the Dublin art scene.
