The Temple Bar area maintains a laser focus on drinking -- you'll find little in the way of live music acts, or anything more to eat than stock-standard pub grub. But if you're looking to throw down a variety of pints in a variety of colorful places, there really isn't a better place to start in Dublin than here.
The Temple Bar Pub stands as a sort of unofficial centerpiece to the area, but some other spots to visit for drunken revelry include Bad Bob's, Trinity Bar, Fitzgerald's and Bankers Bar. Constant competition for the exuberant but usually cash-poor student crowd means that you can pick out nearly any pub at random in this area and find some sort of incredibly low-priced drink or food special.
