Gamble on Greyhounds

Greyhound racing, one of Ireland’s favorite pastimes, is still alive and well in Dublin. Come out to see these tremendously fast dogs—they hit a top speed of 43 miles per hour in six strides—do what they've been bred to do. Check out the dogs before the race and place your bet on which one has that winning combination of litheness and muscularity. If you’re lucky, you can spend your winnings on a couple drinks afterwards. The first race is at 7:55 pm, but you'll want to show up a bit earlier.

Utrip Tips

*The races happen at different tracks depending on the day: head to Shelbourne Park (on South Lotts Road) on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday; go to Harold's Cross (151 Harolds Cross Road) on Tuesday and Friday.
