Post-Byzantine Religious Art Collection

The Byzantine Museum of Antivouniotissa is a grand showcase of post-Byzantine religious art from Corfu and the island of Crete. The church is one of the island's oldest religious monuments and as such, attracts many visitors.

Its collection of icons and heirlooms is unsurpassed and well worth checking out if you are drawn to religious art or art history. The church itself is a magnificent work to behold with its timbered roof and beautifully painted wallpaper. Built toward the end of the fifteenth century, this museum and church features largely in the island's history and culture.
