The Bürgersaal, or Citizen's Hall, is one of Munich's great historic buildings. Also under the moniker Bürgersaalkirche after the consecration of the altar on May 13, 1778, it has become the prayer and meeting room of the Marian Men Congregation, "Annunciation." Originally built in 1710 the hall has been used as a church since 1778, and is furnished with some spectacular religious art. Come here to admire the history of the building and some art as well as the resting place of Rupert Mayer, a priest who defied the Nazi regime and paid for it with his life, who was beatified in 1987.
