Traditional, Quirky Festival

A thrice-yearly festival, Auer Dult is a must if you're looking to do some people watching, grab some cool vintage finds, or just absorb the local culture of Munich. Because it's offered three times per year, the name of the festival does change; in May, it's called Maidult, July, the Jakobidult, and October, the Kirchweihdult, and all three together make up the Auer Dult. But, regardless of which one is on while you're in town, you'll definitely want to swing by—from the quirky vendors (and the largest crockery market in Europe) to the Ferris wheel, it's a great place to experience Munich.
