The Harbour Museum in Hamburg is a historical collection that showcases some of the finest exhibits for shipbuilding and navigation. The exhibition ranges across 2,500 square meters inside the building and extends outside and onto the quay for the open-air exhibits for larger vehicles and displays.
Floating exhibits are showcased alongside the quay to give visitors a first-hand view of how the harbor port operated more than a century ago. Steam-powered engines and cranes are still operational and provide insight into how barges were loaded from the port of Hamburg in a bygone era.
