A Fairy Tale Park

Although redesigned many times since its creation in 1848, Volkspark Friedrichshain remains one of the most visited parks in Berlin. The park is popular with locals for its myriad different activities and open areas for laying in the sun, holding many playgrounds, a restaurant, a pond, monuments and statues. A sports complex for volleyball, rock climbing, skateboarding, and swimming is also available. The park contains the Fairy Tale Fountain, a popular spot amongst children, which has 106 stone sculptues of figures from German fairy tales.
