Unter den Linden (Under the Linden Trees) is one of the most historic boulevards in Berlin. It runs from the Brandenburg Gate up to where the Stadtschloss Royal Palace used to stand, and in between you'll find the Neue Wache War Memorial, the Crown Prince’s Palace, Humboldt University, and the Berlin State Opera. Since its creation in 1647, Unter den Linden has been a picturesque place to walk down and explore; it remains that way today, with the same Linden trees of old guiding the way.
