Prater Garten serves up classic German cuisine both at an outdoor beer garden and in a beer-hall-style dining room. Plop down at a picnic table and order a wiener schnitzel or a tasty bratwurst (or two) and a mug of beer. Service is quick and portions are hearty and cheap. Prater certainly isn't a"hidden gem" of myth, cliche, and lore, but its popularity speaks to its quality. Try to come on a nice day if you want to dine outside; only 80 of the Beer Garden's 600 seats are covered.
*The beer garden is open every day from April through September, weather permitting.*Recommended by local expert Charles Odom.
