Punk & Techno

Several of Berlin’s most notable clubs lie just south of the river in the Kreuzberg neighborhood. In the 1970s, the district’s burgeoning punk rock scene earned widespread acclaim; SO36, once a favorite hangout of David Bowie and Iggy Pop, remains a hopping punk-themed club. Waterside hangout spots like Club Der Visionaere offer a nice change of scene from the rollicking techno clubs nearby. Kreuzberg is also the epicenter of Berlin’s LGBT nightlife scene, so if you're looking for a night for the ages to put on your Berlin trip plan, you'll want to head to Kreuzberg for a night or two.

Utrip Tips

*SO36 (historic punk venue) *Club Der Visionaere (canalside chillout) *Tresor Club (underground techno) *Festsaal Kreuzberg (eclectic concerts) *Lido (rock club)
