The Kreuzberg neighborhood, once a much-maligned piece of West Berlin, became a cultural hotspot after the fall of the Wall. As with any district in the city, there are heaps of great nightlife choices here, ranging from Ankerklause’s kitschy maritime saloon to Würgeengel’s classy cocktail lounge. Kreuzberg is also the epicenter of Berlin’s LGBT nightlife scene. For easy bar-hopping, wander along the eastern part of Oranienstrasse, home to many of the district’s most popular bars, or around Bergmannstrasse for more off-the-beaten-path options.
