The Fernsehturm is a television tower located close to Alexanderplatz. The tower is the tallest structure in Germany standing at 368 meters, making it a great place to see stellar views of the city. At the top of the tower, there's a restaurant that slowly rotates throughout the day. The tower was constructed between 1965 and 1969 by the former German Democratic Republic administration, who intended it to be a symbol of Berlin. Today, the tower remains a strong symbol of the city and can be seen even from quite a distance away, making it a great meeting point or place of reference. While there is an elevator that will take you to the restaurant and visitors center, the more adventurous can climb nearly a thousand steps to the top.
