A Museum by Design

The Bauhaus Archive and Museum of Design offers visitors an extensive collection of art, documents, literature, and more from the famous Bauhaus School. The Bauhaus School, founded by Walter Gropius, was a well known art institution in Germany from 1919-1933, which promoted the avant-garde, modernism, and artistic innovations in general. The school fostered everything from dancers to architects to photographers, and everything in between. The collection at the Bauhaus Archives includes teaching materials, workshop models, architectural plans and models, artistic photographs, documents, and a library, all available to the public. One of the most influential art schools of the twentieth century, the Bauhaus Archives are a must see for any artist or art enthusiast.
