Treasure Hunt at the Louvre

Daunted by the Louvre's massive collection of incredible art? Want to go beyond the Mona Lisa for an intimate look through the museum's vast holdings? THATLou (Treasure Hunt at the Louvre) combines the fun of a scavenger hunt with an education on the paintings, sculptures, and antiquities that make this the best museum in the world. Teams of 2-4 decipher clues on their way to discovering the Louvre's artistic treasures (all centered around a theme)—and have the chance to win a prize along the way. On the first Sunday of the month, when the Louvre is free, there are often public hunts that begin at 2:30 PM, but you should give yourself at least twenty minutes to enter the museum and get to the meet-up point in the main foyer. If you aren't in town for the first Sunday of the month, set up a private hunt through THATLou's website.

Utrip Tips

*Book a public (18€/person) or private (25€/person) tour here.

*Louvre admission is free on the first Sunday of the month and on some national holidays.

*On Sundays, skip the lines by entering via the Porte des Lions entrance (look for the lion statues facing the Seine, between the Pont Royal and Pont du Carrousel bridges).
