The Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré provides all the fashion of the Champs-Élysées, with none of the crowds. Relatively narrow and nondescript (in comparison to the Champs-Élysées), it's cited as being one of the most fashionable streets in the world, thanks to the presence of virtually every major global fashion house. Like the nearby Avenue Montaigne, the street has always been dedicated, to high-fashion stores and other exclusive establishments. Originally the site of several villages and a forest, the street has been transformed, now housing nearly 100 high end shops. The street also includes the seat of the French President, Palais de l'Élysée, and the Canadian and British embassies.
