The Museum of Natural History began as the Jardin Royal des Plantes Médicinales (Royal Medicinal Plant Garden) created by King Louis XIII in 1635. However, the royal physicians stopped using the garden for medicinal purposes in the 1700s and the Museum of National History was formally founded in 1793. The modern museum is organized into three areas: the Galleries of the Botanical Gardens, Botanical Parks and Zoos, and The Museum of Man that focus on research and educating the public. This is a great and education museum perfect for adults and children alike.
