Where Curency is Forged

The Monnaie de Paris (Paris Mint) was created in 864 when Charles the Bald, the French king at the time declared that the government would control the printing of money. The Paris Mint now creates currency, commemorative coins, and medals. Inside the mint is a museum dedicated to the production of coins and French currency. The museum also holds ancient coins that can be looked at by visitors.
